Whatever your interests and lifestyle, Cardinal Forest has facilities and amenities that you will enjoy. Several community events are planned each year, including our popular luau and community yard sales, bike rallies, winter holiday party, and more. We have two swimming pools, so no one is more than a five minute walk from a cool dip. At the Prince James Drive pool, you can also enjoy a visit to the sauna after your swim. If tennis is your game, we have four professional quality courts to play on. The kids can play in any of four tot lots or they can enjoy playground games in our multi-purpose area. We have a community garden for the green thumb set and two clubhouses for those who prefer indoor activities. Organize your own activities on The Green, a large flat open area where you can play Frisbee or soccer or whatever else suits you. Members may rent space in our handy storage lot to store boats and recreational vehicles.

For more outdoor fun, you can walk or drive to Lake Accotink Park and enjoy an entire day of activities. The hiking and nature watching is terrific all year round. In the warm weather months you can go to the marina and rent a canoe, rowboat, or paddleboat, take a guided boat tour of the lake, play putt putt golf, watch your kids ride on the beautiful antique carousel and play on the playground, laugh at the antics of the ducks and geese, throw sticks for your dog, play baseball or other sports, or enjoy a picnic. Some of the special events each year include the annual cardboard boat race, Easter egg hunt for kids and bone hunt for dogs, owl watching, evening cruises, and the magnificent Memorial Day fireworks display. On warm summer evenings, you can listen to free concerts in the pavilion.
